Several fragments have today (March 9) been recovered from the meteor that lit was captured on cameras across southern England, including this from the local weather man.

They came down in the Winchcombe area of Gloucestershire.

Scientists say they have seen nothing like it - said to be carbonaceous chondrite - a stony material that retains unaltered chemistry from the formation of our Solar System 4.6 billion years ago.

One of several cameras to capture the meteor speeding across the sky was this from Kilmersdon Weather. You can follow his reports by clicking HERE : his Facebook page
