As the latest storm bears down on Midsomer Norton, more people than ever will be checking in with a hyper-local weather site, believing that Mr Kilmersdon gets it right when the Met Office don't.
Kilmersdon's weather man is hugely popular because he offers ultra local, ultra fast, by the hour weather predictions - and he is invariably right.
He is very specific about the impending Storm Dennis, but his forecast is that the biggest problem is not how fierce it will be, but how closely it is following on from Storm Ciara.
Martin Gibb, otherwise known as Mr Kilmersdon said: " When compared to storm 'Ciara' winds may not be quite as strong as last weekend, but it is marginal-say 50-60mph gusts. Rainfall which wasn't an issue with storm Ciara looks more likely to be disruptive in our part of the UK compared to last weekend with quite a lot of rain falling on Saturday and Sunday given what falls will be falling on already saturated ground."
The local weather forecaster has a fascinating history and was born in the tiny village of Kilmersdon, also known as the Jack and Jill village after the favourite nursery rhyme.
It explains his early interest in the weather because it was literally all around him in the 1960's.
He said: "In late 1962/63 the area witnessed some of the worst snowfall in living memory and being as I was just a small infant at the time the area became inaccessible. So we were trapped in our homes for weeks with provisions brought to us by primitive means."
Much later he went to work in Radstock, and since the only way to travel to work was by bike, he was once again exposed to the elements.
Martin moved to Radstock, and for over 25 years he was the non food departmental manager in Radstock Co-operative Society. He brought up his family before moving back to Kilmersdon where he has finally had time to make his happy obsession his work, offering local weather forecasts on the hour.
He explained: "From keeping primitive handwritten daily accounts of weather and using basic thermometers and barometers it was then as technology advanced I gradually began to compute my data with greater accuracy onto computer software. Since the internet has become such a powerful tool with providing me with at the finger tip access to satellite images of clouds and precipitation I began to think about how best I could turn back my knowledge of the weather in a way that the community in which I live could share."
Now on two sites, Martin offers hyper local weather reports and updates, lots of history about weather patterns and has over four thousand followers for Kilmersdon Weather on Facebook @Kilmersdonweather.
You can see his other site by pushing the red Button below.
He has a live webcam of Kilmersdon, which is regularly checked by visitors all across the world, and in the second site, he has created a gallery of photos of cloud formations and weather phenomenon which he hopes may help people to make their own weather predictions.
Meanwhile the official Met Office has put in yellow warnings for Radstock and Midsomer Norton with forecast that the high winds, more dangerous in high speed gusts, will cause travel disruption from ten o' clock on Saturday morning until midnight on Sunday.
They warn to expect travel delays and to be ready for some damage to buildings such as tiles blown from roofs and possible power cuts.
Weather forecasters are expecting persistent rain heavy rain for a full 24 hours, from midday Saturday to midday Sunday with a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded. Which is just what Mr Kilmersdon said.
