M&Co in Midsomer Norton has now shuttered up, closing for good on April 20.

It is the latest blow to the Midsomer Norton High Street, with some places still failing to attract any interest over a year since they were advertised.

Those stores include the pharmacy site previously operated by Lloyds Pharmacy which has moved into St Chads and closed in October 2020.

The store is still empty with a To Let sign on the front.

Just a few doors away the former McColls on the corner which closed in November 2021 is also still empty.

Another business which has closed recently is the Shake and Bake on the Island which only opened in June 2022.

The number of business closures is at a three year high - details HERE - with retailers struggling post pandemic with falling customer numbers and soaring energy costs.

Other big names which have shut include the stationery store Paperchase, which had a store in Bath and Bristol and in Clarkes Village. The brand was saved by Tesco, but all 106 shops closed April 3.
