The delivery of 4G - this mast in Westfield is now fully operational

Frustrated by local mobile connectivity ?Nub News has heard a lot of frustration from local businesses about the slow roll out of 4G across the Somer Valley.

So it is good to report that EE has confirmed that this mast, on the Westfield Industrial Estate, is now fully operational.

Nub News understands a mast in Clandown is now on-line too, and one in Peasedown, so that means only the centre of Radstock is still partially lacking coverage of 4G. And according to THIS network coverage map, one spot on the Wells Road is even able to access the next generation, 5G.

EE, which we checked with about the mobile mast status, is working on bringing 4G to more rural communities under the Shared Rural Network (SRN) initiative. The U.K.'s big four mobile network operators – EE, O2, Three and Vodafone – say they are on track to serve 4G across 95% of the UK by 2025.

In December , EE, which is part of the BT Group following a merger in 2016, said that over the past year, it has built or upgraded over 500 4G sites across the U.K. as part of the SRN initiative. In total, EE says it has upgraded 1,362 sites since the SRN deal was signed in March 2020,
