The future of the Walnut Building site in Radstock : Plans on show

An exhibition has been held for an up-close look at the Curo plans to build 32 new affordable homes on the land formerly occupied by the Walnut Buildings in Radstock.
The public exhibition at the Whisty Hall, also allowed them to offer feedback on the scheme. In a form offered up to everyone who went to see the planning boards, visitors were asked to tell Curo their thoughts, with questions including:
What they most liked about the proposed scheme
What changes they would you like to see for the scheme. They could also leave their contact details if they might be interested in the proposed shared ownership homes planned on the site which was demolished earlier this year. Nub News visited the display early in the afternoon and we were told of two issues that some visitors had ; one being the height of the buildings, which might be three storeys high, the other plans will include demolishing the existing garages close to the former Walnut Buildings, to provide four more homes. The proposed homes are a mix of one and two bedroom flats and two and three bedroom houses, with just over half aiming to be sold to first time buyers, with the remainder offered at social rent to people on Bath & North East Somerset Council's housing list. In addition the site will have electric vehicle (EV) charging points and a 'home zone' - a shared space shared between vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians and children. Curo will be putting in a planning application to B&NES later this year with a view to work starting by spring 2023, with completion by the summer of 2024.Share:
