The many companies which carry a special crest showing that they supplied to the late Queen's household - or have a prestigious product - will have to reapply for the warrant.

The 180 warrants Charles issued as Prince of Wales will continue now that he is King because they go with the household, not the title.

Many of the products affiliated with the Queen are well known brands, such as Marmite, Twinings Tea, Cadbury's chocolates and Heinz sauces.

But they include businesses in the South West such as A J Charlton & Sons which is between Radstock and Frome. They have manufactured timber products for over 119 years.

The horticultural company Blackmore & Langdon which grows delphiniums and exhibition-quality begonias and is based in Pensford, will retain its warrant which was issued by the new King Charles III but when he was Prince of Wales. The company started in 1901
