The village of Paulton will be going to the polls today (June 22) to elect their representatives on Bath and North East Somerset Council.

Elections to the rest of the council happened in May, but Paulton's vote was postponed after the sudden death of Green Party candidate Tim Morgan days before the election.

Sam Ross, the chair of the council area's Green Party branch, said: "Tim was an active campaigner and candidate for the party over the years and his warm smile and kind nature will be missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known him."

The ward elects two councillors to the council and there are eight candidates standing, with the Conservatives, Green Party, Labour, and Liberal Democrats all contesting both seats.

When the rest of the council area went to the polls, the Liberal Democrats won a landslide 41 seats on the 59-seat council. Labour and the Independents both had five councillors elected, with the Conservatives and Greens both on three.

Labour will be hoping to hold on to their two seats in the ward, which were held by Labour councillors before the election.

Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm.

Voters will need to bring photo ID with them to the polling station if voting in person.
