Today is all about football - if your youngster gets inspired there are new teams starting this summer

By Susie Watkins 29th Jun 2021

Stratton United FC is a new football club for boys and girls aged six plus

The club has been established with support from Stratton on the Fosse Parish Council and Somerset FA

Training and home games take place at

Village Playing Fields

Fosse Road

Stratton on the Fosse

Somerset

BA3 4QQ

The club philosophy is to bring in youngsters with little or no local recreational opportunities and get them involved in their local community and most beneficially - to achieve a healthier lifestyle

Stratton United is an inclusive, open and friendly club that encourages players to play the game the right way with no cheating, bad language, goal-hanging, abuse of officials or foul play

The organisers insisted : " Our teams don't play just to win, they play to enjoy competing, learn the game and develop as players and people."

Initially there'll be two league teams, under 7s and under 9s but with the involvement of volunteer parents we can form new teams in other age groups

Team managers are FA licensed coaches and all volunteers are CRC/DBS checked by the Football Association

From mid to late August 2021 there will be weekly training sessions for all age groups and Sunday matches commence in September 2021
