Two rural village schools have raised almost £500 for the British Red Cross – which will be sent straight to help the people of Ukraine.
Children at Shoscombe Church School and St Julian's School Wellow have been working hard to raise funds to support those who have been made homeless due to the war.
Headteacher at both schools, Ruth Noall, said:
"Thanks to everyone who supported our children's fundraising efforts. Pupils in Shoscombe raised £252 and those in Wellow raised £195 – which is incredible!
We've also taken time to talk to the children about the war in Ukraine and answered their questions. Everyone, irrespective of their age, has been concerned and saddened about what's happening in Eastern Europe.
We hope the funding raised will be put to good use, and will help those who need it the most."
To raise the money the children held a mufti day.
