Coastal regions of West Wales and Southwest England could see wind gusts reach 100mph on Friday, the Met Office has confirmed but even inland the winds are expected to be gale force.

An amber warning is in place for Storm Dudley until noon today while a second amber warning is in place as Storm Eunice is expected to affect all of Wales and large parts of England from 3 am until 9 pm on Friday.

Over on Silver Street a local couple were praised last night for trying to collect and pin down things from the building site across the road from the Rugby Club blowing across the road.

A post on social media posted: " Thank you to the lovely lady and gentleman that were darting out in the road trying to do what they could to move it to a safe place and stopped me from piling in to what looked like a huge pile of foam cladding. Appreciate you putting yourselves out to help. "

His latest is : " Coastal regions will be out of bounds as it will be unsafe due to high seas from Spring tides crashing into the sea walls and creating a tidal surge up the Bristol Channel with flooding expected in the Severn Estuary later tomorrow. Tonight will see cloud rapidly thicken from the SW and rain will follow. Winds too will escalate towards gale force by morning from a SW'ly point. Then the more worrying time for us is tomorrow morning and into the afternoon as colder air undercuts this storm system with a wind veer towards the WNW and increasing to storm force widely across the area later tomorrow morning and through the afternoon before subsiding slowly through the evening. There will be some squally wintry showers rattling through with some very high gusts up to 70mph+ in places. â˜ï¸A very windy weekend to come too.
