Midsomer Norton Today caught a fantastic shot today.

Hovering over the famous batch - so a great contrast to the dark greys of the heap - the bright yellow of one of Western Power's helicopters.

According to WP the helicopter crew was carrying out a routine safety inspection of the Extra High Voltage network - something which is crucial to ensuring a safe and resilient electricity supply to customers across Somerset.

WPD owns and operates a fleet of five helicopters from its Helicopter Unit headquarters at Bristol Airport.

These helicopters are used primarily within the electricity distribution industry for the maintenance and repair of networks and also during emergency and fault conditions.
