The local litter picking team is appealing for help to tackle an area strewn with rubbish now revealed as trees have been cut back.

Part of Wellow Brook Bank has been cleared of vegetation and some trees taken down due to Ash dieback.

First confirmed in the UK in 2012, ash dieback, also known as Chalara has already caused the widespread loss of ash trees in continental Europe and is now affecting countless woodlands, parks and gardens. Across the whole of Somerset, it has been estimated that up to 90% of Somerset's ash trees could be at risk.

The felling around B&NES has revealed some historic litter along side some more up to date litter around the shop unit's car park.

The local Wombles who have done such amazing clearing work all across Midsomer Norton and Radstock are planning a rubbish blitz 10am Sunday 11th April. Meet by Ignis stoves on Sheepwash Bridge Radstock.
