The small, beautiful village of Carlingcott is nestled alongside Peasedown St John on the edge of the Cam Valley.

Its small country lanes mean drivers are often having to pull over, give away and navigate narrow bends.

Following a recent request from a resident, Cllr Sarah Bevan (Independent) has persuaded B&NES Council to install new reflective chevrons on a well-used route into the village.

Cllr Bevan said: "Road safety is important. It's essential that we have the appropriate road signage to alert drivers to upcoming bends and other changes in the road layout.

"The country lanes around Carlingcott are narrow and, particularly at night, it can be difficult to judge distances and corners.

"These new reflective chevrons will be a great help to motorists travelling in and out of the village."

The Independent Councillors for Peasedown St John and Carlingcott, Cllr Sarah Bevan and Cllr Karen Walker, are keen to hear from residents who have ideas and suggestions on how to improve road safety in the community.

Cllr Walker added: "We're always keen to hear from residents on issues that matter to them. If there is something you'd like to tell us, please get in touch."
