Midsomer Town councillors will be debating this year's proposed council tax increase at their full council meeting at 7pm on Monday February 1.

The first item to be discussed will be the town budget, followed by talks about the town precept.

That item is : " To consider a recommendation to Full Council of a precept figure of £408,675 for 2021/2022 which represents a 5.7% increase on a Band D Council Tax property. "

Neighbouring Radstock Town Council has already set its budget for this year, and at the last Town Council meeting, agreed to keep the rise, for a second year in a row, at zero.

Also on the agenda, councillors will consider applications received for people who have applied to join the council following the resignation of Cllr John Baker.
