Children's Hospice South West (CHSW) supporters enjoyed a festive afternoon of fundraising at a Christmas Fair hosted by Tucker's Gave Inn, raising over £450 for the charity.

The Faulkland pub hosted the Christmas Fair on Sunday 28 November in its Parlour Café to help CHSW provide support and care to families of children with life-limiting conditions.

Mr Charlton of Buckland Down has applied for outline planning with all matters reserved to build a detached home on the land, details on the B&NES planning reference 21/05103/OUT.

New figures published today (December 8) show Bath's Clean Air Zone (CAZ) is continuing to improve air quality in the city and that the number of chargeable vehicles is decreasing.

The data shows an average 14% decrease in nitrogen dioxide (NO2) levels within the CAZ in the last quarter compared with the same period in 2019, with similar levels shown in urban areas outside the zone's boundary.

The scheme could be extended

New measures to further improve air quality and protect Bath city centre and the wider World Heritage Site, including Cleveland Bridge, are to be considered by Bath & North East Somerset Council's cabinet.

A report to cabinet on Thursday 16 December says since Bath's Clean Zone was launched last March air quality in the city has improved, but still breaches national limits in a number of areas, including at sites around Cleveland Place.

Lunch from Mandy's Buffet

The second free Midsomer Norton Town Council Children's Christmas Party took place at the Somer Centre on Saturday 4th December 2021 between 12 and 2pm. The event first took place in 2019, but unfortunately, was not able to go ahead in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic.

This year's event was again free to all children who are resident in Midsomer Norton and of Primary School age. All those attending the Party required a ticket to gain entry on the day. This year saw slightly fewer children attend than in 2019, but we still had a sizeable number of children turn up! As a sign of the times – temperatures were taken, and hand sanitiser and masks were available at the entrance.
