This week the sun shone for the opening of the rejuvenated Shakespeare Road Play Area in Westfield. Packed with exciting new play equipment, including an accessible trampoline and swing, this play park has been long awaited and was immediately teeming with young people.

Chair of Westfield Parish Council, Cllr Geoff Fuller said: "We are appreciative of all the work the B&NES Play Officers have put into creating this brilliant play park. The mix of play equipment is unique, it is motivating and fun and clearly the young ones love it. It is good to see such significant investment in this area of Westfield, I am sure the play park will be valued for years to come."

Last week, Her Royal Highness, Princess Anne, the Princess Royal, visited the Bath and North East Somerset Citizens' Advice Bureau (CAB).

It was both an honour and a worthy tribute for the CAB to be visited by the Princess Royal, who made the visit as patron of The National Association of Citizens' Advice Bureaux, a position that she has held since 1990.

SWALLOW is a local registered charity based in Westfield, which provides supported housing, education and training and outreach in the community as well as a range of support towards employment and activities to reduce social isolation. The charity is a user-led organisation and was started in 1993 in response to the needs and wishes of local people with learning disabilities. It now helps over 140 teenagers and adults locally.
