Photos released by Radstock fire service who were there in minutes

A crew from Radstock attended multiple calls of a car on fire in Chilcompton Road last night.They were on the scene within minutes and used two high pressure hose reels on the blaze. But unfortunately the car was a total write off. The fire was reportedly started accidentally by an electrical fault. Luckily no one was hurt. Residents on social media praised the fire officers, who are all retained, with one resident saying: "Good work by the fire crews to get there so quickly."

Unsafe charger purchased from an online marketplace

Residents in Midsomer Norton are being warned of the dangers of buying unsafe electrical chargers from online marketplaces after a woman from the town found hers melting her smart watch and burning her furniture.

Allainah Rivers had bought a dual phone and watch charger online, and was using it to charge her smart watch when she realised the charger had melted, destroying her watch and burning the chest of drawers it was lying on.

It has been announced that Donna Ford, town clerk for Midsomer Norton, has been awarded the prestigious accolade of Clerk of the Year at the glittering awards night of the National Association of Local Councils held in Milton Keynes.

Donna was singled out from more than 7,000 clerks in the UK so this is a fabulous achievement.
