Plenty of local runners and walkers, including the four legged kind, enjoyed the 5k run in the Midsomer Norton Town Park on the first Saturday of each month.

Organised by Welton Church Runners the run was described as great fun with plenty of variety in terrain. The Celebration meadow, Wild meadow, the Zig Zag, the Greenway and the Batch path are all well know features of this established run and walk.

The event takes place every month - the next dates are August 5th, Sept 2nd and Oct 7th.

It starts at 9am at the entrance to the Somer Centre, Gullock Tyning, postcode, MSN BA3 2UH. You can run or walk, these free timed events for the community are aimed at encouraging runners and walkers to be active and enjoy the Town Park.
