Brr - another record breaker in Midsomer Norton - but the outlook is for a heatwave says Kilmersdon Weather
The good news is, after some spectacular record breaking weather reports, it is going to warm up.
According to Midsomer Norton's favourite local weather man: " The weather is on the warm up and by this time next week we could well be seeing temperatures in the high 20's C."
The sunny outlook comes after a week of record-breaking recordings from Kilmersdon weather.
As some local garden centres were re-opening (May 13) he advised readers to keep those plants indoors.
It was an early May that Kilmersdon Weather will not forget in a hurry.
According to his records on May 12, at just before dawn, the temperature was minus 2.2 degrees centigrade... the lowest May temperature he has ever recorded.
On Sunday May 10 he recorded the biggest temperature drop in a daytime ever : from a maximum of 19.7C at just after ten in the morning. It fell to .6C and a windchill of just +5C-that's a temperature drop of over 10C in just over six hours.
Then overnight Wednesday he put out another frost warning, telling gardeners: "Those who may have planted out tender plants I would get them in or protect them as a frost is a guarantee again tonight. It could be as damaging as the one a few days ago with air temperatures dropping below zero in low lying areas and pretty close everywhere else too. So you have been warned. "

But before you do put on your sunglasses, our favourite weather man has warned: " Interestingly I think we'll be finding it too hot by this time next week as hot air is likely to spread up from the South-at least for a time though thunderstorms are a possibility here and there."
