Radstock is still in the dark for Christmas but that's ok

The relative lateness of Christmas light switch on in Radstock has been broadly welcomed by residents. The lights will be switched on this coming Saturday (December 7), but some residents did question if this is a little late? Westfield turned on their lights a week ago, as did Frome. In London, the famous Regent Street Christmas light switch-on was back on November 14. While some people on the main community noticeboard said the town looked a bit dreary, many comments on social media supported the idea of not having lights on until it was closer to Christmas. One said it made sense financially, another that they didn't want to see lights earlier than this weekend. One resident said the whole discussion was a waste of time - They wrote: " Really??? Christmas lights??? Does it really matter when they go on, I haven't even noticed. I have a life. " The council did not return requests for a comment.
