Rudy's barbershop has grown up - and today the Midsomer Norton address celebrated its 18th birthday .

When the owner started hairdressing aged just 13 UK barbershops were typically run by big Italian families or one man one chair set ups . She saw a gap in the market and watched as male grooming really started to take off, helped by a young David Beckham leading the way by regularly changing his hair.

Her barber shop grew and eventually underwent another make over and name change to keep up to date with the industry . It's now know as Rudy's .

The co-manager praised the team at the shop which has also just welcomed a new team apprentice.

She told Nub News : " Our main focus still remains the same brilliant customer service great haircuts at a great price 100% focused on keeping our clients happy and given the best haircuts .

"Keeping up to date with training growing the business with new staff and we also hope to add shaving and a male grooming room into the shop. "

The other co manager added : " I would like to thank our amazing staff for sticking through the toughest times. They have been our backbone, to staying open late, cleaning everything after each customer, making sure each other are safe, which the quote, " a good barber takes care of people " and I certainly have the best staff.

"With each customer comes through our doors, we can't thank you enough for sticking with us through thick and thin. To the friendship that grow along side the hair cutting, long may it continue for the next 18 years. "
