These talented youngsters have been training for over a year, putting in hours every week and now just need a little financial boost to put Midsomer Norton on the international dancing map.

The group, aptly named Dweam Team, have done brilliantly and have won a place in the world championships, but desperately need funds to get there.

They train at the Midsomer Norton Somer Centre for four hour long sessions every week and their hard work paid off when earlier this year they came in first place in the UK championship within the United Dance Organisation discipline.

Coach Amy Rowe explained: " Within Streetdance there are several boards of competitions, smaller competitions such as StreetHouse Championships and then the next level Street Dance Challenge and then the highest board of competitions which is UDO. UDO is one of the hardest competitions in the world and we decided to take both of our teams Dweam Team (age 10-16) and Rugratz (age 6-11) to try and qualify for Europeans and World Championships."

While Dweam Team's first place meant they go on to compete at the Worlds, Rugratz just missed out qualifying by two marks.

Coach Amy Rowe couldn't be more proud, especially as within the group there is also a duo pair of dancers, Sophie and Ruby who have also qualified for the international dance championships as a pair.

Dweam team will head to Blackpool on August 20 to compete against 36 other countries to grab the title of world champions for their age category. That's if they can get the money together to pay for their travel and lodgings. In all Dweam team need to raise £5,000 before the end of June 2020 - otherwise they won't be able to go.

The dance school, Dweamah Dance Academy, which has been running for five years, teaches all kinds of abilities and ages, children dancing from three and adults who still dance at 60. But this Dweam Team is something extra special. Amy said: " These children show brilliant commitment, team work and love for dance."
