If you have lost or not received your photo ID you can get an emergency proxy vote.
To vote in person in the local elections happening today (May 4) in North Somerset, Bath and North East Somerset, and many councils across the country, it is now required that you show a photo ID at the polling station.
People without a photo ID could sign up for a free Voter Authority Certificate to use instead but the deadline to get one of these has now passed.
But if you signed up for one and it has not arrived yet, or you have lost or damaged the ID you planned to use, you can still vote if you apply for an emergency proxy vote.
You need to get the emergency proxy vote form to your local Electoral Registration Office before 5pm today.
This will allow someone you trust to vote on your behalf. They will need to have their own photo ID that they can show.
If you live in North Somerset, you should email a scanned completed form to [email protected]. If you need to call the team, you can on 01934 634 909
If you live in Bath and North East Somerset, the email address for your electoral services team is [email protected]. Staff recommended also calling the team on 01225 477333 to be sure they have received your email.
Your Electoral Registration Office must receive the form before 5pm today.
Polls close at 10pm.
