Kilmersdon: Accessible Guided History Walk and Afternoon Tea at the Jolliffe Arms
As of Saturday 4th June, 12 (of 30) tickets are still available for a guided, accessible Kilmersdon history walk led by Radstock Museum Trustee Martin Horler on the afternoon of Sunday 12th June. Meeting time and location is given on the actual tickets.
Tickets cost £10 and include afternoon tea at the Jolliffe Arms afterwards. Tickets available to buy from the museum during museum opening hours: Tuesday - Sunday 2pm- 5pm, Saturday 11am- 5pm (closed Mondays). Please email [email protected] if you have difficulty collecting tickets at these times to make alternative arrangements. Matin Horler is a local historian and storyteller and is fascinating to listen to. He will have you captivated on all things Kilmersdon, for example,.... The famous Jack and Jill Well is at Kilmersdon but do you know the origin of the story behind the nursery rhyme ? Do you know when the first free school was built in Kilmersdon ?
When was the new Toll Road built ? Where was Kilmersdon Manor? Why was the lock-up known as the blind house ? These and many more questions will be answered during a relaxed walking tour of Kilmersdon on the afternoon of Sunday 12th June. This will be the Radstock Museum"s Bygone Days Talks team's summer event. The history walk finishes at the Jolliffe Arms with afternoon tea.
