Midsomer Norton Jubilee Music Festival

By Gordon Mackay 4th Jun 2022

A fantastic crowd turned out for the Midsomer Norton Jubilee Music Festival held in the Town Park on Friday. Mayor Lynda Robertson opened the event at 1.30pm with local musician James Harriman first on, introduced by the day's compere Martyn Plant.

The crowd continued to fill the huge amphitheater as All You Need is the Beatles reeled off well known hits from the Fab Four's back catalogue. After a stirring performance from The Davenports, the heavens opened sending the crowds to seek cover in the surrounding gazebos while Al 'O Kane, Young Martyrs and Verdisa played on before headliners, The Honkytonks, wrapped up an amazing day. Councillors, officers and many other volunteers were on hand to run the event and bar while Deputy Mayor, Gordon Mackay was busy taking pictures and videos to publish on Town Council's website, social media and YouTube channels.

The event was broadcast from 3pm on Somer Valley FM and can be replayed from their on-demand service.
