Midsomer Norton High Street - good and bad news for business

As Midsomer Norton Nub News reported last week there are three new shop openings in the High Street, a welcome boost to the local retail scene. But it is not all good news.
Today (June 13) it official statistics showed that business growth across the UK has stalled and fell by 0.3% in April after it shrank by 0.1% the month before.
April was the first time all main sectors of the economy - services, manufacturing and production - had shrunk since January 2021.
So business is facing a difficult time, as can be seen by the commercial picture of Midsomer. Just yards from the new ventures, at least two businesses have already, or are about to, close.
One, at 7-9 High Street has a bailiff notice in the window.
As Nub News also reported at the other end of the High Street, the former P>E>O>P>L>E charity shop has a planning application for the site to be converted into housing after no one showed an interest in taking on the buildings and continuing to have them as commercial premises. That planning news is HERE
