New business start up with huge potential

Local News by Susie Watkins 5th Dec 2019

The doors have just opened on businesswoman Emma Mannings' new venture - a welcome shop front boost for the town. She will be selling hemp products right in the heart of Radstock. The clue is in the name, Hempty, with the catchy marketing pun: Why run on empty when you can run on Hempty? The shop, the first venture of this 47 year old entrepreneur will sell organic, vegan and sustainable hemp toiletries. Emma got involved in the alternative world because her children were ill. She explained: " I have three daughters and two have had ME and one with Lyme disease, so I got into alternative treatments. " After working at local markets Emma realised that there was a big untapped potential market for hemp and cbd, along with essential oils and natural products. Hempty is on Fortescue Road, the small lane opposite the Co-op. Emma said: " I liked the friendliness of the other shop owners and it's a busy vibe." Normal opening hours will be, Mon 9.30-5, Tues 2-7, Wed 9.30-5

Thurs 2-7, Fri 9.30-5 and on Saturdays 10 until 4pm.
