A local community fund is looking for new Trustees, including a Treasurer, to get involved in deciding which local environmental projects will benefit from funds generated by our local renewable energy projects.

Bath & West Community Energy Fund is looking for three new Trustees, including a Treasurer, to get involved in deciding which local environmental projects will benefit from funds generated by local solar power projects.

The charity was set up in 2014 by renewable energy co-operative Bath & West Community Energy (BWCE) to redistribute surplus income from its renewable energy generating projects. Since then it has given out over £170,000 to local charities, volunteer organisations and community groups for projects to reduce carbon emissions and/or tackle fuel poverty.

Applicants over 16 from all sections of the community are sought for the voluntary trustee positions. This will involve attending between four and five daytime meetings a year, contributing to grant making decisions and helping the charity to make positive contributions to the local community.

BWCE Fund Chair Sophie Hooper Lea said:

"This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in taking positive action on climate change. Our BWCE Fund grants support fantastic local projects that really make a difference. Enthusiasm and passion for environmental issues are at least as important as previous experience and we are happy to mentor less experienced applicants."

For more information, including a Trustee Specification and details on how to apply, please go to https://www.bwce.coop/communityfund/trustee-vacancies or email  [email protected]

Deadline for applications: Thursday 30th April 2020.
