There is a meeting over in Shepton Mallet next week which will be hearing about the planning application for Orchard Vale on the edge of Midsomer Norton.

Campaigners are asking all of those who have opposed the plan to get involved.

The meeting at the Council Chambers in Canards Grave Shepton Mallet will be on Tuesday November 7 at 2pm and the item is the first on the agenda HERE.

Councillors and planners will discuss the demolition of numbers 26/28 of Orchard Vale and the development of around 54 houses in the space.

The controversial plans to build on the edge of Midsomer Norton are under review with Midsomer Norton local councillor Shaun Hughes committed to fighting them being put into any local plan.

Under application 22/02932/FUL the plans are to demolish 26 and 28 Orchard Vale and development of 60 new homes with open space, landscaping and all associated infrastructure (Cross Boundary Application with Mendip).

One of the last comments on the planning application summed up many of those who have objected writing : " Our roads cannot take any more traffic, sixty new properties will mean over 200 extra cars."
