Plans to impose paid for parking Midsomer Norton - and Radstock- continue to anger local residents.

There is now a petition to get B&NES to reconsider the proposal, which opponents also point out may raise only £20,000 in its first year.

You can read about those details HERE: and the political row they are causing.

But one comment in the report has come in for particular criticism.

That is from Cllr Samuel said businesses in Midsomer Norton and Radstock were harmed by drivers parking all day long in the free spaces. One angry resident has argued that not only are a lot of those drivers are employees of said businesses and secondly a lot of homes on the Midsomer High Street do not have parking spaces to use. The poster speculated that : " The real reason behind these charges is to fund more projects in the city. More projects that make the city more pleasant for the students. Before long Bath will be one big university campus." You can keep up with the campaign against parking charges and sign the petition against the changes by clicking HERE: It already has over a thousand signatures.
