He doesn't want to exaggerate the forecast, but the Midsomer Norton favoured weather man is seeing a big build up of weather patterns which could mean dramatic weather on the way locally.

The Met Office has issued several severe weather warnings for thunderstorms, heavy rain and in some places even snow and ice, from the big shift.

Kilmersdon Weather contacted Nub News and sent over the images which show the local, and national, picture.

He told us that while it is currently fair over Midsomer, heat and humidity are building and the current satellite image shows how the storms are likely to spawn.

Martin Gibbs said : " Things move fast around here this morning. The UKMO has followed up an additional warning for heavy rain on Thursday from similar weather conditions.

" It is impossible to say if any one place gets one but because there is no directional wind in the atmosphere. Currently the storms will be slow moving so that where they occur they will drop a lot of rain in a short space of time with surface water flooding whereas a mile or two down the road see none. Lightning and hail could also be an additional hazard to be aware of. "

He added: " It all sounds very dramatic I know and people always challenge me about making too much out of what for most is just an inconvenience but there are folks on the roads who need to be made aware if they encounter these events and there are also some folk and animals, especially dogs who are petrified of thunderstorms."
