More than 200 homes could be built on the edge of Keynsham by a local housing association.

Curo plans to build up to 213 homes on a site spanning from Bath Road opposite Pixash Lane, to the Northern edge of the Manor Road Community Woodland.

Curo CEO Victor da Cunha said: "Our plans for Bath Road look to address the severe lack of homes for local people in Keynsham, offering solutions to the diverse housing needs of the area.

"This project is set to be a catalyst for the creation of an accessible and vibrant neighbourhood, with 67 affordable homes included in the plans."

Outline planning permission for 213 homes on the land was secured by developers Mctaggart and Mickel last year after a four year planning battle, and the land has now been acquired for Curo housing following negotiations earlier this year.

The development will include a new playing field to enable the expansion of Two Rivers Primary School, as well as a sports pitch for public use.

Curo state that they are prioritising green spaces and local infrastructure, with intentions to include green spaces, community orchards, and allotments in the development.

Thrive Architects, PFA Engineers, David Jarvis Associates Landscape Architects, and Clarkson Woods Ecologists will be working with Curo on the development.

Curo say they are refining their development proposals. A reserved matters application will need to be submitted to the council to determine the specifics of the development.
