Planning news:

In Westfield at 19 - 20 Elm Terrace an application has been put in to build a new detached house on a plot to the rear of no. 19. Details under 22/02438/FUL

An application is in to vary a condition on planning granted to build a house on land to the rear of Tennis Court Cottages, Tennis Court Road, in Paulton. Under 22/02494/VAR they have applied to vary condition 10 (Plans List) of 19/00669/FUL which is to build a two storey home plus a double pitched roof garage.

In High Littleton, Maggs Folly, on Rotcombe Lane, 22/02460/FUL has put in an application for a double storey sunken, replacement, side extension, and a single storey front extension.

And just to keep you up to date, a condition of work starting at the former Radstock Co-op site in Radstock has now been agreed. Condition 24 - was an agreement pre construction of where the fire hydrants serving the working area would be. All other pre-commencement conditions have already been discharged

Approval has been given for the siting of the hydrants : " To ensure that the development is properly served by fire hydrants in the interest of fire safety. The Council's Planning Obligations SPD is clear that a financial contribution should be made to the provision of fire hydrants, or they should be installed as part of the development at the outset. The location details as submitted are acceptable and therefore I can confirm that this condition has been satisfied. Date of that decision was: 23rd June 2022. Full details on what is happening over there under 21/05254/COND. A letter in late May stated that demolition work was to start imminently.

Planning decisions made by B&NES include:

A new repair and dry valeting area at the Mercedes Benz showroom on the way into Bath at Bath Business Park, Foxcote Avenue, Peasedown St John, has been permitted.

And planners have refused a retrospective application at 176 Charlton Park, in Midsomer Norton, for a change of use of land there into residential development and the building of a 2m boundary fence. in their decision planners stated : "The principle of the change of use from public space to residential curtilage results in the loss of open space which is harmful to the visual amenities of the area." Adding " The proposed fence by reason of its design, scale and siting will result in a harsh and incongruous addition which would detract from the character and appearance of the street scene and as such cause harm."
