If it all goes to plan the iconic miner's wheel in the centre of Radstock will be brightened with a tribute from local knitters.

They are hoping to hoist their a rainbow of knitting up to the top of the wheel with the help of the local fire service.

The rainbow of flowers has been created by the knitters of the town to thank the NHS for their devotion during the coronavirus pandemic.

Now they are hoping that the work will be hoisted aloft using the local fire crew tomorrow (Thursday July 2).

Knitter Jennifer Louise Prowse said: " I am so thankful for all the ladies who have helped with making the flowers. And Margaret who has helped with the materials and sew the ties on and finishing it off before Thursday ."

All being well - and no shout outs - the local fire service will lift up the work to the top of the miner's wheel at 7.30 pm.
