Radstock's Ellis Rankin hits a new record for his Parkinson's fundraiser

By Susie Watkins 15th May 2020

Seven year old Ellis Rankin from Radstock has hit a new fantastic fundraising amount - but donations are still coming in.

The St Nicholas pupil has made the most of his time in lockdown : raising all this for the Parkinson's charity.

His mum told Nub News today (May 15) "A huge thank you to everyone in the local community that chose to support Ellis throughout his challenge. We have been overwhelmed by the messages and support for him - it's been amazing."

Ellis said when he embarked on his charity efforts: " My mummy organises events for Parkinson's UK and I have taken part or volunteered at most of her events. She can't organise these events because of the coronavirus and help people with Parkinson's to get better. "

It is not too late to make a donation, with his just giving site here:

Every hour, two people in the UK are told they have Parkinson's.

It affects 145,000 people in the UK – which is around one in 350 of the adult population.
