Locals have told Nub News that it was one of the quietest social weekends they have ever known in Midsomer Norton, following confirmation that the area has six positive coronavirus cases.

On Friday Public Health England in Bath confirmed that there had been half a dozen cases in Norton Radstock.

In response to this Bath United FC decided to cancel their weekend match against Farrington. The local Midsomer Norton Rugby Club also closed its doors. One business followed by Midsomer Norton Nub News said that it would close for the next week, as a precaution.

High Street pub Mallards reassured customers that it was still safe to go out. It posted on social media that : "Despite what you may have read elsewhere, Midsomer Norton is still open for business. It is still a safe place to visit, shop, enjoy a meal or a night out. Businesses have worked hard to put in place the necessary precautions that allow them to safely operate during a pandemic."

The Palladium Electric also on the High Street was, as you can see from the photo, unusually quiet. One of their customers told Nub News: " It's quite scary what the impact of just those couple of cases can have on a business."
