Local groups, organisations and residents in the Somer Valley are invited to the next virtual Somer Valley Area Forum on Wednesday 15 June at 6pm.

Simon de Beer, the council's head of Planning will be speaking in his capacity as Place Team lead for the Somer Valley Area. He will explain how the initiative will help the council better understand and respond to place-based needs through engagement and will be answering resident's questions.

There will be an update of the development of the Somer Valley Enterprise Zone from Richard Holden, the council's operations manager (Regeneration & Housing) with a reminder to get involved in the current engagement programme which runs until 30 June.

Helen Harris, Primary Care Network Manager for Three Valleys Health will be giving details and looking for feedback from attendees on Enhanced Access Plans.

The meeting will also hear an update on the specific support for Ukrainians in the Somer Valley.

Lynda Robertson, chair of the Somer Valley Forum said: "We are looking forward to hearing from our speakers, but the meeting will also be a good opportunity for people to give their feedback on initiatives which affect our community."

Councillor Kevin Guy, leader of the council, said: "The Area Forums are a part of our commitment to giving people a bigger say, which underpins the way we take decisions. It's an opportunity for us to meet residents and talk about some of the things affecting local communities and services."

Area Forums are open to all and bring together public services, local organisations and residents to improve local engagement, encourage people to talk to each other and share their skills and ideas. There are five Forums in Bath and North East Somerset which are supported by the council.

Somer Valley Area Forum comprises the parished areas of: Farmborough; Farrington Gurney; High Littleton; Midsomer Norton; Paulton; Peasedown St John; Radstock; Timsbury and Westfield.

The other Area Forums are: Bath Area, Bathavon, Chew Valley, and Keynsham.

You can find more information and meeting dates on the council website.
