B&NES Labour Councillors Liz Hardman and Grant Johnson are leading a campaign to save the 82 bus, supported by Cyril Mitchard(Paulton Parish Councillor with responsibility for buses) and local bus users (pictured) Grant and Liz said : " Children in Paulton deserve a bus service that can get them to and from school. So we are launching a campaign to save the No 82 bus service.
Not only does this provide a vital link for pupils in Paulton to our local secondary schools, but it also provides many elderly residents with an accessible and convenient bus service across the Somer Valley.
This campaign will involve lots of negotiations with First, but we really need you to support us and show how important this service is. If you agree with us and want to help save our No 82 service, please like and share this post to send a message to First Bus that this village isn't going to go down without a fight . Also please sign the petition on this link: https://chng.it/gh4cGryg " The petition is just short of 200 signatures needed to move to the next level in terms of importance.

The local bus changes are still being worked out with news that the number 172 will no longer serve Paulton all of the time, although councillors are hopeful that it might during some times. The 171 and 178 will be replaced by the 379, which currently looks like it will 'miss' out Keynsham and go direct along the A37 to Bristol.
