Toilets in Midsomer : Unresolved issue looks set to dominate survey on how to revive High Street

The anger at the continued closure of the public toilets at Midsomer Norton Town Hall is now becoming part of the public discussion into how to revive the High Street.

There is an on line survey into how best to invest in the revival of the centre of Midsomer, following the news earlier this week that the town is to get £85,000 investment.

Campaigners who have been demanding that the disabled toilet in the Town Hall be re-opened, have urged residents to use an on line survey to complain about the lack of public toilets.

The issue of Town Hall toilets were discussed at the last council meeting, on May 4, where it was debated whether local businesses could offer their facilities.

The toilets remain closed in the building in spite of emails to councillors and the central government legal ruling that council meetings must now begin to be held in person.

Now residents are being urged to complete an on line survey about the investment into Midsomer High Street and express their annoyance at the lack of facilities.

The Action Zone consultation asks the town for help to understand the High Street

Asking : Do you like to meet your friends here? Do you think it is an interesting place to visit? How can we make it nicer for everyone?

On several social media posts the answer is simple - toilets.

Early this week it was announced that the 'Merriment in Midsomer Norton' Cultural Programme was awarded £85,000 to relaunch historic street markets, enhance existing festivals like Wassailing and delivering interactive heritage and cultural events including history trails, pop-up exhibitions and skills workshops.
