Midsomer Norton residents are walking in a Window Wanderland this month thanks to a project organised by the Midsomer Norton Community Trust designed to brighten the February blues.

Metro Mayor Dan Norris has been invited by Alex Davis, Manager of the Midsomer Norton Community Trust, on a special creative tour to see the best of the imaginative window displays on the High Street that local people and businesses have put together.

Starting at the Town Hall, the Mayor will tour windows at shops including Lilleys Vinyl Revival, Pure Taste, Lewis Thomas Hairdressing, Jacarandas coffee shop, Magpie Vintage & Curiosities Ltd and Serendipity.

Window Wanderland is an award-winning project which first came to life nearby in Bristol in 2015. Lucy Reeves Khan was inspired to start Window Wanderland after experiencing years of isolation after chronic illnesses.

The former set designer would take short nightly rehabilitation walks around her neighbourhood in Bristol. Since then it has gone nationwide and global with magical window displays as far away as France and Canada as well as Midsomer Norton.

It is also happening for a fifth year over in Frome.

The theme of this year's Window Wanderland is Midsomer Memories. Organisers say the displays "showcase our town's people, places and stories – the good, the bad and the ugly!

The Midsomer Norton Knight, the Beauchamps, the River Somer, the old cinema, carnival, the railway, the Batch…"

Metro Mayor Dan Norris said "The people of Midsomer Norton have always had a strong artistic spirit and sense of community, but seeing this wonderful outdoor gallery honouring the town and its history has truly brought this to life."
