We Hear You - Coronavirus statement

By Guest

10th Mar 2020 | Local News

Having considered the implications of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), at present We Hear You are running all services as normal: no counselling appointments or fundraising activities have been cancelled.

Our Director and Board of Trustees will continue to monitor the situation and we will update our website and social media accordingly. If you're in counselling with us and we need to cancel your appointment we will contact you directly. Where possible, if we cannot see you face-to-face, we will aim to continue counselling sessions over the phone or via our online counselling platform.

At We Hear You we work with many people whose immune systems are compromised by treatment, or those who care for and live with them. As such we are always mindful of the need to avoid passing on colds and flu. At this time of heightened risk, we ask all counselling clients, visitors and other contacts to avoid coming to our offices or counselling venues if they feel unwell or have been in contact with someone who has symptoms linked to coronavirus: coughing, fever and difficulty breathing.

Regardless of symptoms, please practise good hand hygiene in line with NHS recommendations (wash hands regularly with soap for 20 seconds) and use hand sanitising gel where hand washing facilities are not available.

If you have recently returned from somewhere on the list of high risk area on the UK government's website, please follow the up-to-date advice at https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public#returningtravellers. If you have a cough, high temperature or breathing difficulties, please do not attend our settings and call NHS 111 for advice. If you're in counselling, we'll do our best to continue your sessions via phone or online.

If you need to speak to us to rearrange a meeting or counselling session, please email [email protected] or call 01373 455255. If you need to discuss attendance at a fundraising event, please contact [email protected] or call 01373 466599.
