It was spotting with rain today (August 15) in Midsomer Norton, but little in the way of long term relief for a very dry landscape locally and repeated warnings not to have fires or BBQs.
The Met Office has forecast that the showers could turn heavy and thundery at times with a risk of hail and lightning. But again these will be short lived, and by Thursday it will once again be dry.
Somerset is not officially in Drought - but Devon and Cornwall have been declared officially in drought status and today both brought in hose pipe bans.
But in the area served by Bristol Water, there are currently no plans to introduce any kind of restrictions.
A Bristol Water spokesperson said last week: "We do not anticipate the need for any hosepipe bans or water supply restrictions in the Bristol Water supply area this year. This is due to our current reservoir storage and how together with our customers we're reducing the amount of water we use.
"We are carefully monitoring the situation due to below average rainfall this year and lower reservoir levels compared to normal. Rainfall in July was 41% of the average level, with no significant rainfall in August so far. "
