Is there anybody out there who would be willing to help start up and run either a Senior Citizens Group, a Parent/Toddler Group or a Bingo Group on a voluntary basis? This is the question that the Trustees of Whisty Hall in the Tyning area of Radstock have been asking. 

There had been all these groups meeting at the hall but over a period of years they finished due to various circumstances. "It would be lovely to have the groups back again so that the hall can provide these services locally which would mean people would not have to travel very far" said Shirley Turner who is one of the Trustees. "The hall still has the equipment available to be able to start a Parent/Toddler group or a Bingo Group, so that would not be a problem" she continued.

Not a town clean up - this time B&NES are targeting verges

Tonnes of rubbish thrown into verges on some of the busiest main roads across North East Somerset are being picked up by Bath & North East Somerset Council as part of a six-week clean-up blitz.

More than 150 miles of verges on busy A and B roads will be covered by the council's cleansing teams picking up litter thrown out of vehicles starting from today. (February 10).

The local amateur boxing club has a new owner, although he will be familiar to fans and those who go to the popular club, since Sean Jenkins was already the boss.

Jeff White has been with the club for the past five years, helping to secure funding and promote Norton Radstock Amateur Boxing Club. But now he has officially handed over the running of the group to Sean.
