In what is believed to be a local 'first', solicitors Thatcher + Hallam are organising two free conferences  called Off The Ball, aimed at helping officials, coaches and volunteer parents on how best to protect their local amateur sports club, their members and themselves. The conference is the initiative of Thatcher + Hallam solicitor William Weller. As well as being the firm's senior partner, Will is also a sought after personal injury lawyer.

For Will however, the one issue that has changed the whole legal landscape is that of safeguarding and child protection.

A well connected line of revamped telephone boxes, now home to books, have appeared in and around the Radstock area- all using a book swap system, which allows for not only the books to have a new lease of life, but also makes good use of some of the 67,000 phone boxes in the UK now left unused.

One particularly keen user is Lucy Milsom who said: " I can always find a new book to read and it's great to have somewhere to take the books that I've already read."

Following on from the success of January's Surgery, the next Midsomer Norton Town Council Surgery will take place in the Beauchamp Room on Monday 3rd February 2020 between 6pm and 7pm, immediately preceding the next Full Council meeting which will start at 7pm. Deputy Mayor Steve Plumley will be in attendance, along with Councillors John Baker, Sue Graham and Gordon Mackay.
