The authority has ordered an unlicensed Landlord to repay tenants

Owners of houses in multiple occupation (HMO's) in the Midsomer Norton area are being urged to check whether they need a licence, after the owner of an unlicensed property was ordered to repay their tenants £34,000.

An HMO is a property with three or more people who are not family members living in it and sharing facilities such as a bathroom or kitchen.

Cutting the ribbon on the new volunteer library

A brand new community-run library has opened in Peasedown St John as a result of Bath & North East Somerset Council's Modern Libraries Programme.

The library will be run by more than 20 volunteers at St John's Community Hall and will be open for 12 hours a week, stocked with 700 books for residents to enjoy.

New plans to help prevent homelessness and eliminate rough sleeping have been drawn up by Bath & North East Somerset Council, with face-to-face help available in Midsomer Norton.

The five-year Homelessness & Rough Sleeping Strategy includes innovative ways to prevent and reduce homelessness through working in partnership with a range of organisations from the NHS to private landlords.
