Farmers' Market this Saturday in Midsomer Norton PLUS Football Boot Swap

The first Saturday of the month means market day in Midsomer Norton. Your Town Councillors will be at the community stall chatting with residents, shoppers and traders. This is a great chance for the Council to be amongst the community whilst also supporting the market which so importantly brings footfall to our high street.

I made a short video of last month's market which you can see here.

It's great when residents come over to chat and let us know how they feel about the town and the Council, what's going well and what could be better. We can update people about the exciting developments at the Town Hall and other projects in our community.

The Council is currently developing a Town Strategy to guide us over the next few years. If anyone wants to ask for more details, this is a great chance to have your say in an informal setting.

In addition to many regular stalls selling locally produced food, this month sees guest appearances from The Piddle Brewery and a welcome return of the fabulous U3A Ukelele & Guitar group. People can have a coffee, take a seat and soak up the atmosphere at this bustling little market in the pretty Hollies garden. There's lots to see buy and do and our excellent library is also open with all it has to offer, including toilet facilities! The full line-up for the Farmers Market is available here.

Next to the market, by Sainsbury's, the Rotary Club Boot Swap starts a new season after a successful run in 2022 where you can swap out your kids outgrown boots for a larger size. Having three young boys growing up in Midsomer Norton, I know what a wonderful idea this is!

Also, don't forget, the MSN Craft and Gift Fair will be running at the Somer Centre in the morning too so well worth heading round to see what's on offer there.

Please do take some time to say hello on Saturday morning, you'll hopefully recognise me wearing my Mayoral hat!

Gordon Mackay, Mayor of Midsomer Norton.
