We design and deliver acoustic and communication systems and subsystems for anti-submarine warfare and anti-mine warfare. Our solutions and related services are suitable for all types of platforms: submarines, surface ships, helicopters, maritime patrol aircrafts and unmanned naval systems. Due to business growth we are looking for an Industrial Architect to join our team. You will a ct as the interface to the business to formulate Industrial Strategy for Bids, Projects & Products. The Industrial Architect will be responsible for definition of the Industrialisation and Production strategy including agreement of the financial estimates to deliver the strategy as well as being accountable for the implementation of that strategy with the support of the wider Industry and Supply Chain team. Key responsibilities & Accountabilities: -
- Input to reviews throughout the Bid & Project lifecycle on behalf of Industry to define and approve industrial solution (within the agreed Industrial Strategy).
- Input to reviews throughout the Engineering lifecycle on behalf of Industry to define and approve industrial solution (within the agreed Industrial Strategy).
- Create Industrialisation Plans for projects/products that delivers our Industrial Strategy and is linked to the Integration, Validation, Verification and Qualification Plans. Includes contribution to the Make/Team/Buy decisions.
- Contribute to the creation of Production Plans that define how products are manufactured (e.g. layout, systems, flow, operations).
- Responsible for the agreeing the definition of estimates for Projects/Products and the associated financial commitment (inc. Capex).
- Responsible for delivery of Industrial Work Packages with specific regards to Industrialisation activity.
- Lead the assessment of Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL) for products within business.
- Lead and support Production Readiness Reviews (PRR).
- Proven specialist in Industrialisation/NPI principles.
- Capable to influence and mobilise peer networks in relevant specialists and domains to support and improve the industrial activity.
- Confident to present to cross-functional groups.
- Demonstrated understanding of lean principles and Design for X (DfX).
- Mechanical Engineer/Electronic Qualification (HNC or equivalent).
- Lean awareness (e.g. Business Improvement Techniques (BIT), 5S, Kaizen/Yellow Belt, Green Belt/ Six Sigma etc.).
