Where possible, we support a working pattern that suits your lifestyle and helps you reach your ambitions.Our opportunityThe Alternate Crypto Custodian shares equal responsibility with the Crypto Custodian for the discharge of all duties in respect of the Cryptographic material held on account.The Crypto Custodians are wholly responsible for the safe custody, registration, mustering, amendment, issue, safe handling and disposal of cryptographic items registered to their locations.The Crypto Custodians are the advisers on all aspects of Crypto-security and the methods necessary to provide the correct level of protection relevant to their cryptographic holdings registered to their location.The Crypto Custodians are responsible for ensuring that the through life management of cryptographic equipment is maintained, advising Crypto Users when End Of Life scenarios are presented to avoid any potential disruption to business operations.What can we offer you?On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package, which includes;

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:Crypto Custodian and Local and Deputy Security Controllers - Maintenance and support of local CRYPTO account and compliance with all aspects of MoD Cryptographic Publications JSP 490 / 491 and JSP 440.Responsibilities to deliver security compliant with IPSA and maintain FSC standards (Gov Standard 007)Skills and Experience:
  • Business Management qualification / Vocational qualification at level
  • The role requires a SC clearance
  • Experience in delivering detailed briefings to peers and subordinates
  • Experience of service delivery within strict rules and regulations
  • Experience of working in an ordered and highly security aware manner
  • Willing to:
    • attend training as delivered in person or remotely by UKNDA
    • undergo further vetting if required
  • Desirable to have experience:
    • as a Crypto Accountant / Alternate or Custodian
    • as a Hand Receipt Holder of User of Cryptographic Material
    • in a security role handling ACCSEC material
    • in handling Security classified material
    • in management of Security Containers
    • an understanding of HMG Vetting
  • Elements of internal assurance management and checking against assigned criteria
  • Willingness to cover for and support the CSO in other administrative roles
  • Attention to detail and ability to deliver accuracy on the first attempt on most occasions.
  • Strong disciplined approach to process while providing pragmatic guidance that support the business needs.
  • Ready and willing to respond to change in direction to keep things moving forward.
  • Quick learner - open mind receptive to change.
  • Willingness to challenge the status quo and improve on the standard.
  • Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and follow detailed instructions.
