Somer Valley FM, the local radio station for North East Somerset, based in Midsomer Norton, were honoured to play a part in celebrating local birthdays.

On his Saturday Breakfast show Tristan Reakes celebrated Phyllis Luffman's 101st birthday with a dedication. The following day Chris Griffiths helped make Peggy Childs' 104 birthday memorable with another on-air song request for her special day. Phyllis and Peggy are both residents of Beechcroft Homes in Midsomer Norton.

Sue Lewis, Manager, contacted Somer Valley FM with the requests, where the station is played daily. After his Sunday Breakfast show, Chris then visited the residential home with flowers for both birthday girls. After the birthday on-air celebrations and flower deliveries, Sue reflected; 'What a lovely gesture. Thank you so much. The two residents were absolutely thrilled.'
