Gorgeous day in Radstock : In pictures Haydon Batch looking lovely
Haydon Batch on the edge of Radstock is now owned by the council , who are looking at ways of retaining and protecting its wildlife diversity while also making it even more welcoming and accessible to visitors.
A recent survey of the batch found that, although it began as a place to dump off mining waste, it now teems with flora and fauna. No fewer than 198 species in fact.
The meadows and fields - over 19 acres - are a joy for walkers so, as Nub News does sometimes, it is always worth a visit.
